The Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research (CAHSPR) is meeting in Halifax, Nova Scotia ‐ May 9‐12, 2011. What is health services and policy research? Health services and policy research includes research related to ways health care services are organized, regulated, managed, financed, paid for, used and delivered (Canadian Institutes for Health Research – Institute of Health Services and Policy Research ‐ http://www.cihr.ca/e/12010.html).
What is CAHSPR? CAHSPR was formed in 2003 with a mission to provide linkages between researchers and decision makers, and support knowledge translation and exchange, education and training and advocacy for research and its more effective use in planning, practice and policy‐making. The annual conference draws about 500 delegates. Last year’s themes for the posters included primary care, mental health, drug policy, etc.

While the key theme for the 2011 conference will be “Renewing Federalism, Improving Health Care: Can This Marriage Be Saved?”, the sessions will cover many other topics including, health services delivery, n resources, health technology assessment, etc.
