Animals and Animality course description:
This course will explore the relationship between human and nonhuman animals. The approach will be interdisciplinary, with readings drawn from philosophy, anthropology, environmental studies, history, ethology, science, art and religion. Topics will include animals and cognitive awareness, animals as ethical subjects, domestic animals and pets, cultural representations of animals in art and religion, and animals and science. Biweekly lectures will be held normally on Thursday, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
